Therefore this year, the festival will be celebrated on Friday July 31, with the customary Eid prayer a important part of the celebration, and last until Saturday August 2. In the international calendar the dates vary from year to year shifting approximately 11 days earlier each year. In the Islamic lunar calendar, Eid Al-Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhu-al Hijjah, and lasts for three days.
